Original 1759 Delaware Twenty Shillings Colonial Currency
An authentic Delaware colonial paper money note dated June 1, 1759, issued under the authority of the General Assembly of the Government of Delaware during the reign of King George II.
This historic note was printed by Benjamin Franklin and David Hall of Philadelphia, among the most celebrated printers of colonial America. Franklin pioneered the use of impressions taken from actual leaves as sophisticated anti-counterfeiting devices. The large maple leaf and smaller botanical image on the face are original nature prints unique to Franklin's colonial currency.
