1709 Queen Anne English Vellum Indenture – Bedfordshire Land Deed – Heath & Reach – James Parratt – Original Wax Seal
An original 1709 English vellum indenture executed during the reign of Queen Anne, documenting the assignment of a leasehold interest in real property at Heath and Reach, Bedfordshire, England.
Written in an exceptionally fine legal hand on a large sheet of animal vellum, the deed names James Parratt together with William Underwood, John Milward, and contemporary witnesses. The conveyance describes a messuage, cottage or tenement, together with barns, orchards, pasture, and other appurtenances customary in early eighteenth-century English land transactions.
The manuscript opens with an impressive oversized calligraphic "This Indenture," a hallmark of important legal instruments of the period. The original red wax pendant seal survives, along with the reverse endorsements recording execution and registration.
Heath and Reach was part of the historic manor lands near Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire, giving the document excellent local historical significance.

Very good antique condition. The vellum remains complete with expected fold lines, light age toning, scattered staining, and minor edge wear consistent with over three centuries of careful storage. Ink remains remarkably dark and legible, and the pendant wax seal survives.
