Rare and highly decorative original 18th-century New York State land grant / land patent dated August 14, 1786, issued in the name of George Clinton, Revolutionary War patriot and later Vice President of the United States.
This large-format vellum/parchment document features the beautifully engraved heading:
“The People of the State of New-York”
The grant conveys land in Montgomery County, New York and contains extensive handwritten survey descriptions and legal text in period iron gall ink. The document retains its original attached New York State seal with decorative paper suspension.
