of the French guard as colonel commanding both in the functions where he was previously called, and in all occasions which presented themselves, where he gave proofs of the valor, courage, experience, integrity, vigilance & good conduct, as well as of the fidelity & affection to the service of the King our brother; We have provisionally retained, ordered, & established him in the command of Captain The Compaque of the Body of the Ordnance Companies on foot, under the title of foot soldiers, forming part of the army formed by the French whom the attachment to the catholic, apostolic & roman religion, to honor to the French monarchy & to the King our brother, has reunited under our flags, for henceforth to perform there the functions of the said command of Captain to enjoy the honors, authority, prerogatives, rights & state which are granted to him by the ordinance of creation of the said Body, of the second of March one thousand seven hundred and ninety-two, & to enjoy all the rights which the Officers of the former Regiment of French Guards enjoyed, & the pay which will be granted to him later: wanting Their Royal Letters that the Sieur Court Duclusel of the Body be henceforth employed in the said quality of Captain of a company, of the Ordnance Companies on foot, that he ranks among the Colonels infantry of the army; & that he be obeyed in all that will concern the service of the King, & that of the Princes-Mandons to the Sieur Baron de Cloys Marshal of the King's Camps & armies, Commanding the Body of the Ordnance Companies on foot to have the said Sieur Court Duclusel received & recognized in the said command by virtue of the present brevet which we have signed with our hand, & had countersigned by Monsieur the Marshal Day de Broglie, whom we have committed to this effect,
